I bought a 95 Cruiser Yachts 2420 Aria Friday. The guy I bought it from said he replaced the Impeller, (Don know if it has one in the foot.) but we tested the boat in the water after we fixed the hoses he ripped and put a water hose on each hose to try to flush them out. We then decided to water test it since we also could not get it to cycle water off muffs. the water trial went wall it was cycling water ( we could see the water spitting from the impeller housing since the gasket failed.) never got hot for about 20 mins of hard load. now we took the boat out today July 4th road around for 3 mins the temp got hot so we killed the motor. The risers were so hot it burned the boots and melted one.

So now you know a small idea of whats going on, the question is.
Could he some how screwed up the install of the impeller, could it be the water pump? (note there is no thermostat in it.)
How can it work then stop then work again?

I have not, We just ran some RTV around it and sealed it up. I am going to go buy a new impeller today once the store opens up just to be sure.

*Update*. Replaced all the exhaust boots, changed out the impeller.

We also reflushed the system but putting a garden hose on the out hose on the impeller housing and water flowed great out the V.

Started the motor and its kind of like misting
out the ports on the bottom.
