Do some lookin' around HERE if the Starmada doesn't come through for ya'.

If you can find a Hull ID Number (HIN) stamped into the stern, that will narrow it down. But that boat looks older than a '72 so it may not have one. Can you find a serial number anywhere? It may narrow the year down.

don't quote me, im not one of the aforementioned starcraft experts. that said, the islander in my family uses a 4.3 mercruiser sterndrive be patient, folks far more knowledgable than me will chime in. whats in it now?

That looks more like a serial number than a HIN. HINs (after '72 I think) started with a three character MIC code. Something like "DEM."

But then the M75 part makes me wonder if it's not a '75 model. Either way, I'd place donuts on the table that boat is older than 25 years. Being a 1980 would make it 40 years old, and I'd say she's all of that.

Not a Starcraft Islander, its fiberglass. Islanders were aluminum....

Not at all familiar w 'glass SCs, no idea if its a 1975 based on ser#. Its possible, but by 1975, HINs were standard and that Ser# doesnt even translate to an early HIN so my guess is its a Ser# and the owner doesnt exactly know the difference.

Its also possible an early ownership transfer mistakenly used the Ser# as a HIN, if the Ser# appears on the paperwork as a HIN. Happens.....

In fact, several of my vintage tinnies were registered (by me) w Ser#s used as HINs and they are definitely non-conforming to the current HIN profile, nor the earlier HIN profile that came out in 1972.

Does the owner have any paperwork? Is there an online for sale ad? More photos?

Purely a guess, but the owner may have left off the beginning of the HIN ST making the HIN STR24006M75A

Using an online HIN decoder brings up this.

This boat manufacturer has other company names (STR sometimes goes by these name(s) Monark, Spectrum, Fisher, or Northwood).

Starcraft built a fiberglass version of the Islander but I cannot for the life of me remember the model name.. Wikipedia is no help either..

Learn something new every day. Though I'm aware Starcraft made glass boats, I've never seen or heard of a glass version of the Islander (or similar). I thought those were always alum......
