guys, remember the convertible tops that were all the rage between 35 and 50 years ago when your tri-hulls were new fell out of favor in the mid 80's if you want one of those tops re-created, you need to go to a canvas shop.
you wont find a surviving top that fits because the vinyl or canvas will have shrunk and rotted over the past 35 years
you wont find new tops because boats after about 1985 generally dont have them. boats in the late 80's started getting bimini tops or full camper canvas. no one carries convertible tops in stock. you can still custom order them.
the convertible tops went out of favor for the bimini
the downside to the convertible top, since they attach to the windscreen, they are short. you have to stoop and crawl to the cockpit seats, or at least waddle like a 4 year old impersonating a penquin
they are claustrophobic and in hot weather, they are like a sauna. especially if you have the windows zippered in.
the up-side, they are period correct and have a "sporty" look, but are about as practical as a sieve for bailing
the bimini top is about 2-3 feet taller than the wind screens, which provided shade, and provide air circulation. however in a rain storm, you are going to get wet.
then for the rain, enter in the full camper canvas. however you see this on larger cruisers with air conditioning (back to the sauna thing)
