Any pictures that show condition of cylinder walls on the exhaust side ?----Is cross hatching visible still ?---There has to be a reason for your low compression numbers.-----Bad gauge or damaged pistons / rings !!----A good motor would show 90 + PSI

When I pull the powerhead I can get better pictures of the cylinder walls, but looking in from head they appear to be good.

When looking at the rings through bypass cover I can see the top ring on top cylinder wiggling back and forth (32 psi). Bottom cylinder looks like maybe a little ring wiggle on top ring (58 psi). Can’t see visible cracks in piston looking from head down

One of the coils had melted on the backside to block. Spark is still good, any reason to replace other than cosmetic? Might do it anyway, but curious what you’d do.

Going to try to clean everything up prior to resurfacing, but yes will do that. Any recommendations on what hone to buy for the cylinders?

I would not spend any coins until motors is apart for complete evaluation.

Okay everyone, took the fuel pump off prior to pulling powerhead and the spring and diaphragm retainer fell out. Curious if the below orientation of spring is correct? I think this is how it was when it fell out. I’m taking notes and pictures as I go to remember for reassembly.

I would think that the white plastic bit goes against the diaphragm.----Carefully look at the fuel pump parts.----All of them will have marks from and on the old parts to show how / where they were assembled !

Does anyone know the threading/bolt size for the 3 holes on top of the flywheel? I got the flywheel nut loose but can’t get the flywheel off. Went to Autozone and looked at harmonic balancer removal tool which would work but didn’t have right size bolts and for the money ($20) seemed high considering hopefully only need it once. I’d like to make one but need to know thread size. Thanks to all.
