Purchased this motor awhile back. Converted it to short shaft. Got it running. It’s running on both cylinders. Ran it with muffs. Pulled lower unit to change impeller and pressure test. What is this stuff? Could it be sea foam or some type of fogging that is just burning off? Thx

Well-----This question is asked about 2 times a week here there and everywhere.-----It is NORMAL.------The oil mixed with the gas has to go somewhere.----And some goes right through the motor !----As I have said many times the workings of oil / lubrication in a 2 stroke is not well understood !!!

Agreed, exhaust, oil, fuel, and water all emulsified together. Get it off of those muffs and on a boat on the lake where it was designed to run, and it will run much cleaner.

Thx racerone and F_R. Racerone I’m familiar with how a 2 stroke functions and how the oil and gas lubricate everything. Just had never really saw it that color and that much. And yes F_R I need to get it on the boat. Just wanted to do a trial run. Recently had an emergency appendectomy. So I can’t get out just yet. Thx guys for your help,

There seem to be a lot of variables involved. Air temp, water temp, engine rpm (long idle periods), oil type, etc. I've seen it on my own motors on occasion. One time in particular I remember, was after slow idle all the way down the Silver River (outflow from Silver Springs). Cold spring water had to be a contributing factor.

I remember asking about that sludge looking stuff in the water barrel when I first started on my project motor. Someone told me it was "camel snot" lol
