Hey everyone,

I rescued a 15' Arkansas Traveler from the dump, and am currently tuning it into my new fishing/crabbing boat. I don't know much about how to get information for it, can't find a hull number anywhere. Curious about how to find out exactly what I have, and in particular find a windshield for it (the boat looks good enough but never had a windshield). Anyone who knows these boats, any help is much appreciated!

If its a pre-1972 boat, it doesnt have a HIN, and may or may not have had a serial #, I dont know if Arkansas Travellers did. Either way, no way to cross reference a serial # to a model or year anyway.

From the dump? Did it come w tbe required paperwork to license/title/register it in your name in your state? Thats offen a problem. How big a problem depends on your state.

Find another derelict fiberglass hull and buy it for the windshield or DIY a frame and get plexi cut to fit.

Otherwise upwards of $750-1K for a place to make you one. TaylorMade made windshields that fit a bunch of different makes/models they might have 1 that'd work, but certainly not inexpensively.

Its pre 1972. Guy I got it from gave it to me free, Reg is long out of the system. Getting it re-registered is definitely going to be the biggest problem on this project.

Thanks for the info on the windshield, I'll eventually go that route. Don't need one to get on the water

Welcome aboard to the wonderful world of old boat ownership.

Before you put a penny into her, do what you have to do to get her registered.

Fiberglassics has a some info on Arkansas Travelers. You may get a match using the measurements and photos.
