How are you supplying water to the motor? Muffs or a barrel?

If a barrel, how deep is the motor in the water? It must be well above the parting line between the lower unit and mid-section.

First of all, thank you for your greeting.
I am putting the cooling water in the engine by muffs.

John. Are you getting water pumped and back through the lower unit outlets but not the tell tale ? Or nothing at all returning anywhere ? Often the tell tale can get blocked with salt but the engine still cools and flows water through the main channels and out through lower unit. Have a look. If it’s not coming out anywhere...that’s when to worry. Then you either have badly fitting muffs...or a worn impeller
