How do you adjust the idle; motor does not have conventional screw adjustment.

May as well post the model number because someone will need it to answer your questions. For adjusting the idle speed, some motors have a idle knob for this purpose at the end of the throttle handle, unless you are asking how to adjust the fuel / air ratio.

The idle speed adjustment does take a bit of figuring out. It is a stop or limiter to the movement of the throttle rather than a direct speed adjustment and it does take quite a bit of twiddling to make much difference.
If you want to reduce the speed twiddle the knob in the appropriate direction and then you will find you can close the throttle a bit further.
If you want to speed it up open the throttle a bit first, twiddle the knob then you will find the throttle wont close quite so far.

As said there is no mixture adjustment

Don't these motors have a full throttle stop screw and an idle stop screw on the motor ?----Look for them on the arm, starboard side of motor block.
