Inherited a 1971Johnson 9.5, great motor that my dad and I used often in the past. Definitely low hours and pretty solid cosmetically. I cleared out the mouse nest that found it's way in and going to see about getting it started once I replace the plugs, etc. The question I have, I am going to let my kids go ahead and use it when we have the chance and was wondering if there is a way to retrofit a lanyard kill switch along with the push button switch?

Yes easy to wire ( in parallel ) into the existing kill switch.----Just need to close the circuit to stop the motor.

Thanks! Not 100% sure how to do that but that but I am pretty sure I'll figure it out.

just splice in your new 2 wire kill device into the 2 wires from the original kill button no need to worry about polarity
