90 hp mercury leaking oil

The boat will not start so I was checking the oil in my 2008 mercury 90hp while I had the top off and when I pulled the dip stick out oil came rushing out of the filler tube had a gas smell as well. Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks

I would expect that the oil has water in it. You should repost this in the Mercury forum.

Smell like gasoline ?----Perhaps a leaking fuel pump or carburetors if it has those.

I have had fuel pump problems all last summer. what would be forcing oil out of the filler tube when you check the oil. Could it be water/gas in the Block

Inspect fuel lift pump.

Gasoline would mix with the oil, diluting it.

Alternatively, oil will float on water, without mixing. It could then bubble up out of the dipstick.
