05 Four Winns 180 Horizon LE 4.3 Merc V6 (15 Reset Push Button)

Having a problem with the 15 Amp reset push button near the key ignition switch. Starts up fine runs for about 5 min then engine cuts out and breaker trips. The 15 amp has a wire connected to the terminal, then runs to the drive which has a 20 amp fuse which isn’t blown, then runs to the alternator. I ran the boat both with the drive disconnected and the alternator disconnected and the 15 amp button still tripped. Any suggestions?

Two wires connect to the breaker. One goes to the fuse box which is direct wire no fuse. The other goes to the drive which has a 20 amp fuse which isn’t blown. Then it jumps to the drive then to the alternator. But in the wire designation the red/purp wire is the 50 amp breaker but this 15 amp breaker also has a red/purp wire.

Ayuh,..... My point is, ya might be lookin' at this backwards,......

Power comes from the alternator, yer load is the fuse box,.....
Disconnect that side, 'n see what happens,.....
