put conversion pertonix in mallory distributor ran fine for a while but it eatting up the cap and rotor he remoed one wire to makit work so i desided to by a pertonix flame thower distributor becuse the is wore out need hep to install not getting spark than you so much

If the pertronix is not getting full 12v, then they fry, if you leave the ignition on a pertronix ignitior ( not ignitor II ) they fry. I think your problem is lack of voltage though. points use a resistor for 6-9v, and that left in will fry the pertronix. Needs full 12v to operate

could the one wire that was removed be causeing my problem

Where are you getting the supply for the Petronix? (If it was the old points wire, you need to run a new wire, that wire is resistive and will not supply the full voltage)..
