Place a voltmeter on the positive side of the coil. See if 12V stats there

if it is a mpi or fuel injection mine does that for a while too, turns out if you change fuel filter you can trap air on injectors, first find shrader valve, prime lines, the put screwdriver into shrader and let out fuel and air, could take 10 tries, until all fuels comes out.

yes, it has a carb. If the oil pressure sensor, or relay (if it has a relay) is bad, would that prevent it from starting. How about a fuel filter?

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,.... The oil pressure switch is on the portside of the block, down low, on the V-motors,.....

The fuel filters contents should be examined in a clear bowl to look for anything but clean fresh gasoline,......
'n of course, screw on a new filter,.... ;)

It could be something as simple as the key switch, or more complex as something else. The key places power at the coil in the start position, and may not be keeping power at the coil when its released.

This is way I was asking if 12V is staying at the coil
