LU gear lube

1990 mariner 8hp two stroke long shaft.
How much gear lube do i put in this motor?
This motor has a LARGE dia screw on the bottom and a small screw at the top. The other motors I've seen has two large dia screws. I'm assuming I remove both screws and fill from the bottom and stop when oil leaks out of the top.
I just want to make sure I don't over fill.
Is this correct?

Yes. The first engine I had with double vents was the 2002 3 cylinder 90 hp 2 stroke. For some reason they felt they had to ensure that all the bubbles were out of the oil....my assumption for their reasoning. On quantity, not much, probably half a tube if you bought it in the tube....thinking the tube is aboutr 10 oz. On the mentioned engine and engines running that LU, the 32oz quart bottle with the pump and all is required, using most of it.
