I have a 2007 5.0 MPI with an Alpha 1 Gen 2 drive. Over last summer I needed to periodically add an ounce or two of gear lube to keep the monitor reservoir at the right level. When changing gear lube last fall I noticed water in the lube. I'm thinking I need to pressure test the drive to see if I can identify the leaking seal, but because the drive is still installed on the boat, this will also pressurize the gear lube monitor bottle and hose. Do I need to remove the bottle and disconnect/plug the hose or is the bottle/hose assembly pressurized as part of this test? Thanks!

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,....... Leave the bottle, Pull the whole drive, then split it, 'n use a wooden plug in the oil passages in the upper, 'n lower,......

If you don't split the drive, you can't see the seals,.....
