Need some help/advice. 3 cylinders on the outboard are registering 140 PSI however 1 cylinder is at 100 PSI. I don't have the money for a rebuild or replacement at this time, will the outboard be ok for a short fishing season here in the NorthEast? What can I expect? Really crappy performance or will I be ok for now?

I never run it too hard or too far. Just trying to get one more season in...

thanks in advance, my kids are begging me to get out fishin'

Use another compression tester and see if you get the same results. With an analogue tester, remove all plugs and crank until the needle stops rising. Record and move on.

Not difficult to pull the cylinder head to inspect the suspect cylinder.
You may just have a bad cylinder head gasket.

No typical head gasket on that motor.----Sealed with O-rings instead of a head gasket..

I see the "O" rings on the exploded drawing, looks like a reasonably easy task. I don't have a manual any idea on the torque settings when re-attaching?
And thanks for the reply!
