Mercruiser 3 button trim switch

I've a 140hp early mecruiser it will tilt down but won't come up just here a ticking like a solionide it is a 3 button

have you inspected/tested the solenoid?

No but has only one solinide and is working to put motor down so I didn't think it would be that

That is the first Gen dual acting solenoid. Probably needs replaced or converted to 2 solenoids

one solenoid system uses the solenoid for only the "up/out" circuit (blue). gravity/fwd prop force allows the motor ease when tilting/trimming "down/in" hence no "down" (green) solenoid

Ha ha thanks wondered why it went down OK but not up solenoid was clicking in up position will replace solenoid thanks for that iam in Australia
