Will Vesselview Mobile work on my 4.3MPI

Hi,
New to this forum although I have gotten real good info over the years but now I am in need of some help... I bought a nice (older) Norwegian daycruiser with a 4.3MPI last year. It had not got a lot of love the last years so I have hade some work getting it in shape. One thing I haven't been able to solve though is the dreaded double beep. I have searced forums and done what was recommended. The IAC is new, the water pressure sensor is new, the lube bottle sensor is OK, the muffler foam in the intake is removed and lastly I have adjusted the linkage so the gear position switch does the right thing.
I have some distance to get to a dealer to do a diagnostic read-out so I want to install a Vesselview Mobile to get the error codes but also use it for fuel consumption and the rest of the readings you get.
So, after this pretty long text I finally get to the question; I have asked Swedish dealers about compatibility based on engine number and get the answer "maybe". I don't want to spend $320 on this if it doesn't work. I hope someone here can give me some more info or confirmation?
The engine serial is M343829, the ECM reads:
4.3L ALPHA FWC 865000-002
864916
MY2003p3AAAF_0008_4.3_ALPHA_FWC_P_AA_131051603
I have found the connector and know about the terminator cap.
I cannot ask Brunswick/Mercury/Mercruiser since they only allow US or Canadian customers to ask questions directly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Jan

The SN shows 555 ECM
NO expert but if the motor has a CAN buss with the 14 pin connector, then it should work

Would suggest Rinda scanner over vessel view. Either Diacom software or Techmate Pro. This way there is no need to check out how to install VV just get one of the above and the correct cable to connect to the DLC

Thanks for your input!
If I were to work more frequently with marine engines I would absolutely buy a proper diagnostic tool. The price in Sweden for the Techmate Pro is somewhere around $2350 so it is a little pricey just to get the error out of the way. I would like to get the added features of fuel consumption etc in the "nicer" package you get with the Vesselview rather than full diagnostic and service at this time.
I would just go ahead and buy it if I didn't get the "maybe" from the dealers. I have done some basic sniffing of the CAN-data and I see RPM and probably manifold (under)pressure but pretty much everything else are just zeroes so I am afraid the ECM doesn't fully support the Vesselview unless there is some handshaking going on to get all the readings. That's why it would be really helpful if someone, based on the ECM numbers or engine serial could say a clear yes or no :)
Perhaps the software of the ECM can be upgraded if not fully supported? All the hardware is in place.

Thanks,

Jan

Do you have the 14 pin engine connector and 10 pin CAN plug?

I just called Merc and verified that you can install VV. Will need the termination resistor at the engine also
