Well I have no clue how to even begin to replace the pull cord. Any idea where I can find a video?

No but there are similar ones, Here is one for example.
NOTE: I have not reviewed any of them for accuracy!! I could sit here for half an hour typing out the instructions, but----well, just say but.

Well now. Great video with lots of helpful information. But can I change out just the pull cord, without getting into letting all that spring out loose

BTW, there is a special tool for making that spring easier to rewind. But it can be done without the tool.

what I do is wind the cord with no tension in the rewinder ..then I pull the cord to load up the spring

I jam the spool with the limp cord hanging out I then rewind the cord manually on the spooler a second time and release the spool this will wind the cord back in

do it a few times but do not over load the spring to the point of jamming it with the cord fully extended. the fully extended cord should never bind the spring.
