Help! 1994 4.3L 200(205?) HP mercruiser starts great, idles fine, runs 3 - 3.5 K just fine, but acts like it runs out of gas when run at 1800 - 2000 RPM for more than a few minutes. Restarts OK and then were back to square one, cruise and idle, works good, midrange throttle, kills after 3 - 10 minutes. Running 50/50 last years gas and new gas, 91 octane, no ethenol. Marine Seafoam used. Any Ideas where we should start looking would be appreciated!

Any thoughts on it being the coil?
the coil is usually the LAST ignition component to fail. that said i have found faulty coils but that is after most other components have been tested/replaced

like ad said, check your carb/fuel system first, then you can focus on the ignition system

A '94 I'd think is the Weber 4bbl which is similar to the Edelbrock 1409. Merc used Quadrajets till about '89/90 then switched to the 4bbl Weber.

1994 holley carb, right???
Most likely the power valve in the carb.
I messed up, had been looking at a VP issue and thought I was on the same thread

We don't know if you have a 2 or 4bbl carb. If 4bbl then it should be a weber as Lou mentioned. If its a 2bbl then its a Merc (like the rochester 2GC)

In any case the issue is most likely in the carb

Its a four barrel. The mechanic working on it is fixated on the coil, which is frustrating.
