Well, that is a very important piece of information to troubleshoot your motor. I would get the test fitting, and a good fuel gaugeI read that wrong I didn’t check the pressure yet I couldn’t get a gauge yet

Electric fuel pumps with carbureted motors in boats do not run when the key is turned on. They get power from 2 sources:I noticed I never heard the fuel pump kick on with key on on position. It was pumping with engine running however.
Maybe in your car, however not in a boatI have heard it come on lots of times when the key is in “on” position
It might run for a few seconds after engine is off. Otherwise it's wired wrong (as in safety issue, needs to be corrected)I really have… may not be right but I have. I even heard it once when I shut it off
