water leak

I have a small hole in the outdrive mounting area in the center of the transom. It appears to be missing a bolt or plug, its about 3/8 diam. any ideas? It leaks water through the hole not running.

How about if you take a picture or two of what your referring to? Will take a bit of the guessing game out of the answers.

I agree, I will try to post pics tomorrow, too dark here tonight. Just a little more info, I removed outdrive, found the rubber seal pushed out that mates around driveshaft area. replaced that , checked bellows all looked good still. Also sealed area around outdrive to transom area. still leaks..

The trim wires do not go through that hole if thats what you mean?
