Hi there, I'm working on a volvo penta 5.7 GSi that I bought that had water mixing with the oil, I disassembled the motor down to the block and concluded the leak was from a blown intake manifold gasket, no visible cracks in the block or head, anyway, put everything back together and I'm not getting any spark at all, I was wondering if anyone knew the diagnostic test path for this motor? When I crank her over I don't see the RPM guage move at all, thought it may be a crank position sensor but I can't seem to find a crank sensor on this motor? Checked the parts diagram too and not sure it has one. I'm thinking the path is ECU -> Coil -> Distributor -> Plugs but not entirely sure and hoping someone with more knowledge on this motor can help me out. Thanks!!

Motor serial number is best?

Looking at a GSI (with other letters) I'm seeing EST distributor, VST high pressure pump and TBI

Is this what you have?

Sorry, late reply but figured I'd still post the solution, it ended up being the safety kill switch, it had worn out and wouldn't make a good connection unless it was FULLY pressed down, even being pressed down by the clip it was making a real rough connection.
