It makes the noise while steering, louder when steering to Starboard than to Port. The Port engine is the noisemaker and only when in gear, it runs up to high RPMs smoothly on throttle only (hitting disengage button on throttle). Starboard engine runs smooth in or out of gear, so smooth it is hard to hear in the video below. Listen to the Port engine's growl/rumble. Sounds like it has to be the Port side outdrive, what do you think?

Gimbal bearing will be louder in turns and under load.

check u joints while in there

Thank you, I guess that means I need to get it hauled out of the slip and get both outdrives serviced.

What else do you think I should have done? I am thinking it makes sense to service the risers and any hard to reach hoses while it is out of the water? Anything else?
