1976 Johnson powerhead swap

i have a 76 johnson 35hp short shaft tiller with a bad powerhead (50 & 40 psi compression). i have found a 1978 evinrude 35hp long shaft with remote control. the evinrude has a good (115psi) compression but needs wiring harness and other ignition parts. do you know if i can swap the powerheads and use the electrical parts from the johnson too. thank you

1976 is the old motor. The new motor came in 1977. If memory serves me.

I only have the model number of mine. The seller can't find the plate on the other motor.

The new style 35 came out in 76.
