Hi!
I am crusing (at least trying to..!) on the western coast of France with a 23ft Sessa (Italian made day cruiser); for a while now, I haven't been able to reach WOT (4400/4800 RPMs) with my 4.3GXI-G serial N° 4012197821.
I have checked and replaced about everything that has been said in various posts about the subject!!
new fuel cells (low & high pressure) readings within specs
compression test readings within specs
new TPS
new Injectors
new spark plugs, new wires, new distributor cap and rotor ...
I asked a local Volvo tech to come over and check it with his Vodia outfit and all he found was a DTC 1642 "buzzer open" !!!! I don't see how this could impact engine RPMs!?
It cranks right away, idles well doesn't stall or backfires nor misses !! it just feels sort of sluggish and lazy to get on plane ... and barely reaches 3600 RPMs Also note that between 3/4 and full throttle on the lever there is no change ?!
I have rebuilt engines on motorcycles and cars (lately a 1978 MGB) but this particular SOB (pardon my french!) is driving me nuts.
I have been reading a lot about "phasing" the distributor but the way mine's made, once down in its place, I can't turn it like you would do on a car since the holding clamp is like a fork with to inner flat "jaws" that only allows the distributor to set in one place...
any wise advice from all you experts would be dearly appreciated !!!
Thanks in advance!
