Is there a mark able difference in torque and performance between a 1987 305 (230) and a 350 both carb'ed ? I just got gifted a 1995 350 . F786416 . the block and one head are done.

a 95 350 will have about 30-35 more hp than a 1987 305.

change to vortec heads on the 350 and you get about 30-40 more

Thanks lads , I already stripped down the 350. Crank , cam , lifters and rods are good .
Interesting on the vortec heads. I think I will look for a set along with a block. May just sell my 305.

Just a quick question , will my Thunderbolt IV from my 305 work with the 350? Just curious if the timing curve would be the same?

Ayuh,..... Sure will,......

Ya know, it ain't as simple as swappin' the crank, 'n guts from the burnt block, into another bare block,.....
