Hello all! Bad way to start but need some help!
After a trouble free boating season (only had to change fuel pump relay), went to fire up the engine and could not get it to start. nothing even close ... seems like there is no fire going on. Here are the facts thus far:
-when ignition is turned on, the fuel pump pressurizes in the first 2 seconds.
- I have spark at the wire leading into the distributor
- I have 50 PSI at the schrader fitting on the injector railing when I turn the ignition on without cranking
- I have ZERO pressure at the low pressure cell on the schrader fitting
- no paint chips on the fuel filter
- no dirt or obstructions visible on the fuel pressure regulator
- distributor cap and rotor are dry and appear OK
- the fuses appear good
Not sure if the ignition relay has a dual purpose… both ignition and fuel.. note: I did have spark at lead to the distributor.
it seems that I’m getting fuel up to the injectors (50 PSI) but not able to fire it up. Am I missing another fuse or something?
Any help would be much appreciated

thanks !

What is your serial number?

The Ignition relay (IR) supplies power to all systems. With the fuel pump energizing indicates the IR is also working.

I did have spark at lead to the distributor.

Don't have spark now
It could be a few things and need to scan the motor for codes to see if there is one. If you were still getting spark at the coil then its probably the distributor cap, if not then its something else like the crank shaft position sensor (CPS).

Check the connector on the CPS which is on the timing chain cover

The serial number is either: 3869220 or 4012091342. Both are marked on the engine. 5.7 Gi-D
Motor had a completely new distributor put in last year. I know I get spark to the distributor but not sure beyond that .. will check on your suggestions

Thanks for the SN
You have the HVS distributor and the caps go bad often. They can look great and still fail. Most boaters keep a spare on the boat just in case.

Getting spark at the coil and not thru the dizzy would be the cap and rotor

All else being well…it will either be a less than perfect battery or the Diz cap 9/10 times.
