Outboard theft cut transom

I picked up a 1991 Campion 165 explorer with trailer from a auction $550 clams the electronics and motor where obvious striped transom has two 1/16 of an inch cut from top to bottom. Should transom be replaced or is there a way to repair without full transom rebuild plywood core is solid

Without seeing the boat, the transom wood needs replaced. Even if I saw her, probably the same advice, replacement.
