Lifting 20ft CC for bottom paint.

I have a 20ft Triton Seaflight and the bottom paint is starting to wear out. My question is what would be the best way to go about lifting the boat off of the trailer bunks enough for me to be able to paint where the bunks rest? There's not really any flat spots anywhere on the bottom of the boat. I'm not sure on the best way to lift it a few inches.

Pull boat backwards on the trailer 2 feet.-----Drop the trailer tongue down.------Put blocking under the transom.------Raise tongue of trailer.------Use a 5 ton jack under the keel near front of boat.------Raise front of boat.-----Move trailer forward.----Lower boat onto trailer and move the jack as needed.-----Taken a 30' boat off a trailer this way with no helpers at all.----There are different ways too.----Depend on your work area and budget I suppose.

If you just need to lift a few inches to remove the bunks then no need to move the trailer away.

Drop trailer tongue all the way. Put cement blocks under stern corners. Top them with wood to protect hull. Make it a tight fit.

Jack tongue all the way up. Transom should be off trailer at this time. Now put cement blocks under bow and top them with wood. Drop tongue until bow is off trailer.

You may need to jack tongue quite high using cement blocks to get boat off both bow and stern. Rock boat side-to-side to make sure she is solid.

Painting the bottom of a boat on a trailer is one way to prevent slime, thorns, weeds, and other nasty sea creatures from growing underneath your ship. It is never wise to paint the bottom of the boat without removing the old paint, especially if you plan to use vinyl paint over a non-vinyl coat. These paints contain strong solvents that can lift non-vinyl coatings off the boat's surface.

Attaching an extension handle to the roller can help you reach higher boat sections.
