Hey All, was out on the boat a couple weeks ago and trim tilt stopped working and had to use the manual hydraulic release to trailer the boat home. Ended up testing the hydraulic motor directly and worked immediately. Jiggled the relays and things started working again from the controls. Ended up replacing the relays and things work now but have a concern as going up just seems slow and off. I added fluid and didn't take much. Also tried multiple times adding and making sure air isn't in the system. Does it sound like the motor is just dying? I also greased the pivots on the steering tube. I don't want to start taking things apart unless I am sure that's what's needed. We all know how many bolts can snap. Here is a video, any advice here would be great. Might not need anything.

relay contacts may be pitted battery may be weak battery cables could be causing poor current flow (needs to cleaned up at all junctions)

test the motor by directly applying powere see if it goes up and own ok

what year and mdl # is it ??

87-88ish Johnson v4 vro. Battery is fully charged and I did run directly on the motor with the same results. Also tried multiple batteries. When I override the hydraulics the motor does not drop by itself, I have to push it down. After pushing it down it stops at the trim rods and will not go any further.
