Volvo Penta 5.0 Gi-- When I put the muffs on and turn the water on and pull the hose going to the raw water intake, Should I get a steady stream of water? Similar to the pressure of the hose?

You mean disconnect the hose leasing from the transom mount to the impeller housing? Yes water should come out of that hose, maybe not as strong as what’s going in but at leases steady stream.

If you check before thevrawcwater pump, yes. Without the engine running, you wont get flow after the raw water pump if you have a good impeller

Yes, before the raw water pump. It seems like it is coming in in spurts not a steady stream. I replaced the gamble bearing this spring and am wondering if I may have caused another issue.

You might want to back flush it from the impeller hose at the housing, back ward to the outdrive. Those drives have a clean out that can be removed so you can do that and any crud in the PS cooler could be flushed out that way. The other thing that can cause that (low raw water volume) is rotted water tube gaskets inside the outdrive, and someone actually had an SX with a hole rotted in the water transfer tube. This requires splitting the upper and lower gear housings to check/correct.
