I've got a 1971 14x48 Ouachita that I am rebuilding. The transom was shot, just crumbled in my hands. I have built a wood replacement but can't install without removing the knees. They were bolt to the transom, but riveted to the floor. After reading some older post I understand I can use stainless steels bolts if isolated from the aluminum. However I would like to rivet them back in place, as I suspect that would be a better option. My problem is I am unfamiliar with the rivets I would need or how to install, or the tools need to install. I've attached a picture of the braces.

DeepC,
No doubt about that! I have extensive hearing loss so almost anything from drilling etc. has me reaching for earplugs that are just about everywhere.

Are there much difference in the quality of aluminum rivets? Better places to buy them?

Thanks

I bought off e-bay not usually available at hardware stores.
