Hi so I lost compression on cylinder 1 on my 98 johnson 200 and opened it up and the piston and head are pretty bad. They look very chewed up like metal was interest bouncing around. There are some scratches on the cylinder as well. The whole motor has already been bored over .030 before. So I found a .040 oversize piston. Can I just bore the cylinder another .010 over and call it a day? Is there another problem I need to fix that caused this cylinder to go bad? Please give me some opinions. Thanks guys!

There are lots of those motors on the used market, likely less expensive to buy another one, instead of trying to repair it. It is a 24 yr old motor
Considering the Robbery at the Pumps these days, I'm sure there will be a lot of them going up for sale real quick
