Thank you for the info... I submitted a request to them along with the model # and a couple of pictures of my motor. I do hope they can locate both an owner's manual and service manual for me to purchase.

I'm actually very new to boating so I just figured an owners manual would help me with knowing how to operate it properly... You're right, so now I'm looking for both the owner's & service manuals.

jacob.... why not visit the AOMCI site where old motors are the " raison d'être" . someonewill provide the files. Furthermore asa member ..should you elect to join you will have free download access to the JOhnson service manual for all these old motors (a 400 page manual answering all your questions)
