It seems the water pump pulley on my Mercruiser 3.0 doesn't line up with the crank, power steering or alternator pulley for some reason. I did some research but it seems most people who had the problem it was the water pump pulley was too far in, my issue is the pulley is too far out so I can't add washers or anything to line it up. The other pulleys all line up so it must be an issue with my water pump pulley or the water pump itself. Are there different water pumps for the Merc 3.0? I did just install a new water pump but I thought the water pump for the 3.0's were all the same?

Did you buy oem? I wouldn't trust aftermarket to work properly.

Measure the off set of the output/input edge to the pulley flange and compare distance to the old one

Only difference I have come across is if the timing cover is plastic or tin
