Hello everybody,
I have an issue with my 4.3 gxi. Vodia diagnosis says buzzer open. After some troubleshooting Volvo penta Italy engineer tell me to connect the buzzer ground to pin number 4.
I have the old round 10 pin connector .
To be sure of what I am doing, do you have a wiring diagram for this engine?
Thankyou

Yes its pin 4 a Tan/Blue wire.
I don't have wiring for GXi-F but do have for the D model and it shows wire going to J1-8

I connected the pin 4 to buzzer negative. Buzzer works but I still have buzzer open alarm. Any suggestions? Thankyou

Looks to be code 1642 buzzer open
With both doing it I would suspect 12V connection coming from the key power side (purple wire) going to the buzzer. Then the ground side of the buzzer back to the motors (pin 4)

Most likely its a loose or corroded connection

Hi. I might be off track here. But what exactly is the whole issue. Is it just showing a buzzer open error, but everything is running and ok otherwise? If so…could it be that the ecu is just showing one of the 3 or 4 inherent faults that sit dormant and aren’t applicable to your engine ? I know that the equivalent mercruiser mpi engine will show dormant faults like pitot sensor. Trim position sensor etc etc. which aren’t fitted, installed or relevant to that engine.
Ignore me if it’s otherwise 😂

Everything is working good. Both buzzers sounds correctly when I put the keys on (2 beep). After that another 3 beep and the screen show electric system fault. With VODIA we discovered the DTC 1642 BUZZER OPEN on both engines.
Engines are running perfectly, no other issues

Strange one. Even more so, being common to the two engines. Are the batteries for both engines common or linked ?
