I think it was splashing up, I saw that as well but didn’t find any water leakage. Still torque checked the water jacket though, for good measureDid I see water dripping behind the coils or was it just splashing up? Idle sounds a bit as well.
Yes it is a brand new thermostat in there, 1979 Johnson 9.9 motor on my 14 ft Jon boatWater first goes in to cool the exhaust cover.----And water from the tell tale does NOT circulate through the block.----Did you install a new thermostat ?----What kind of boat ?----Is it running at full throttle in the above video ?
At full throttle the boat should be going a lot faster.
I have not yetDid you remove and blow out the pee tube?
Also, remove the fitting on the block that the pee tube sticks in, start the motor and see if it clears out. It likes to log jam there.
I have that clear it more than once. If that doesn't do it you better check out your impeller or the gaskets you installed.I have not yet
I will be doing that this week
I’m gonna be honest, I changed the water pump and removed the factory tell tale and replaced with a vinyl tube rated to 160 degrees so it wouldn’t melt. It still vents out the exhaust but I haven’t noticed a reduction in power or any significant problems. I run on a big lake and flooded Timbers all year for fishing and duck hunting. Chances are I need to change the exhaust housing gasket but I’m sending it until it presents a problem worth ripping intoHey OP, any update on your issue? I'm having the same deal with my 81 9.9 with water shooting from the exhaust relief hole.
