I used a 3 point puller to remove the flywheel to get all of the junk out from under it and check everything out. When I went to put it back together, I noticed that the threads were relly bad on the nut. Checking web sites, I could not find the size and threads per inch. I could buy them online for about $10-13. After measuring it and the threads I went to the hardware store and bought a 9/16" fine thread (18).

Welcome to iboats

What shape/condition were the Threads on the Crankshaft? Personally, I would never go and buy a Nut that retains a Flywheel, from the Corner Hardware Store.

Threads on the crankshaft were fine. New nut is a good grade 5.
