Hey guys my first post here I am looking for help identifying a ticking noise, I am hoping it is either a valve tick issue or the fuel pumps rocker arm. I am hoping someone has experienced something similar and can provide some insight before I start tearing into the motor.

Greetings . . . I don't hear much of a ticking sound from the video.

It would be good to use a mechanics stethoscope to further isolate the sound. Often it is a valve lifter/rocker, but not always.

No need to tear into the engine at this point.

Thanks for the reply gonna do my best to try and hone in on the sound, as of right now the sound is most noticeable when the engine is warmed up and in the 2500-3000 rpm range.

In addition to the valves adjustment possibility

I would check your sparkplugs on the chance it is detonation from running lean

Loosen the belt and run it without alternator and water pump turning briefly

Also might be the cover on the bottom front of the flywheel - depends on the model some of the older ones had a sheet metal cover vs newer plastic ones

What I hear is potentially detonation? Hard to tell from a video. Check your timing and timing advance
