Model E25ELCTD , Which I believe is 1983 (ish). Cable single lever remote controls . . . electric start.
The shifting F-N-R is very stiff and takes an excessive amount of effort on the control lever to get the motor to shift in and out of gear. I've taken a quick look at the parts diagram for this motor, but wanted to get input and or common remedies before I start pulling things apart.
I've applied penetrating oil to the 'lever shaft' (#39) and 'actuator cam' (#88), but it did not seem to help. I am wondering if the shifting difficultly is more likely in the lever/cam area or in the gear case itself.
