Mercruiser 5.7 350 mag mpi Raw water pump rebuild

Hello I’m doing my first rebuild on my raw water pump and need to know if any lubrication is needed when installing the drive shaft kit . I watched a video and the guy was using something (oil?) on the shaft seal and around the bearings before inserting . Necessary? What should I use ? Any other tips are appreciated too Thx !

Putting a thin film of oil on the quad ring and O-ring but mostly not necessary.

There is basically three generations of the pump, and a few slight variations of those, which pump do you have?

That ones called the Gen 7 and it will can together dry fine, and using using oil on the O-ring is good also. There is no quad ring
