Volvo diagnostic port

I am an idiot but I have a 2006 chaparral 236 with a Volvo 5.7 GI-EF. I am fighting a soft alarm issue and wanted to purchase a diacom diagnostic package but after talking with them none of their adapter cords match what I believe to be the diagnostic port on my engine. What I have is a female connector that is just like what they offer. I have pictured it below along with the ecm and serial and model info.
Is there a different port that I am too stupid to find. The guys at diacom tried but didn’t come with anything that would plug in to anything that I have.

You have the correct Rinda connector, you just haven't found the matting one on the motor. It's there somewhere

The square one showing is the CAN buss connector

Both the ones shown in the picture above are part of the boat wiring harness. The roundish plug is the same as the one rinda sells and this won’t plug in as they are both female plugs.

Thank you!

Mine was attached to the bracket on the ecm. It was on a dummy plug that had to be disconnected to access. It will most likely be within 12 inches of the ecm.

That is a new one, like VP messed up the harness and used the wrong connector

If it turns out that's the case, and not able to find the right connector to make a jumper. Could get a 8 pin male/female connector, cut both off and connect to new ones.

Either that or make some jumper pins

This is the adapter you bought from Rinda tech?,

View attachment 408207

Required for 2006 and 2007 model years of Volvo Penta gasoline EFI engines equipped with Volvo’s EGC control system.
These engines are equipped with a 8-pin white diagnostic data link connector.
Please use our Selection Assistant or Contact Us to verify if this adapter is compatible with your engine.

See if this fits my application

I didn’t because it is the same end that the boat harness has. I

i haven’t bought it yet because it is identical to what the boat harness has so that adapter won’t plug into the boat
I will likely just buy that, cut off the end and do the same on the boat and make a connector
I think VP made this harness late on a Friday 😉

Interesting for sure... Has me wondering if maybe @muc might recall a VP service bulletin regarding this situation back around 2006ish.
For easier reference, the engine serial number was 4012135891 in the photo above.
