I splashed the boat a few days ago. Pulling from the ramp I got intermittent single alarm beeps. I noticed a general misfire when at no wake. Neutral rev up was fine. When I came up on plane something is definitely wrong. General stuttering and hesitation with a few more alarm beeps. Very limited power compared to normal.
My first thought was inadequate fuel. I replaced the filter today and will test drive tomorrow. I dissected the filter and found per the image below. No water but more crud than I expected for 35 hrs over two years.
Any thoughts if this could be my problem?
This moved me to order the Diacom kit. It arrives Tues. Hopefully if the new filter doesn't solve the problem the Software and USB cable will point to the cause.Fuel filter.jpg

the yellow tint and the crud are both concerning

the crud may have been pumped in when you filled up.

If possible run from a portable fuel tank with fresh gas. Might save you time in eliminating possible causes.

Newest version VP high pressure direct into cylinder fuel injection.
I got my Diacom analyzer today and read the stored codes. Four codes indicating various misfires in two cylinders after changing the fuel filter. No sensor or device faults, including low and high fuel pressure and air intake restrictions.
Pretty sure I have a tank with 10-15 gallons of crud fuel. I had my wife bring the Pentair fluid extractor to the river. Tomorrow pump the tank and load five gallons of land premium no alcohol gas and and some Red Line fuel treatment and see what happens. ....somewhat hopeful.

Bad fuel was the culprit. Apparently 6-7 gallons of very bad fuel left over winter. I topped off 10 gallons of fresh fuel before launching and the diluted fuel was still no good.
Pumped out the tank, new filter and five gallons of fresh fuel plus a four ounces of Red Line and all is well. The upside is I was planning to eventually get the Diacom software/cable. This event caused me to pull the trigger.
Also I think I know which gas dock to avoid in the future.
