Boat is a 1994 Ski ray tournament direct drive
Hi everyone, I wanted to start a new thread as my last one was about oil type. the motor was originally a 1994 350 ski mag but the block was replaced with a zz4 block (confirmed serial number). Before I sucked the oil out the dipstick showed being at or over the full point. I sucked out the oil with a transfer pump (didn't take off the oil filter yet) and only about 3.2 to 3.5l of oil came out.
Another thing I noticed is it looks like they epoxied in the dipstick and may not be the right one.
I am wondering if the dipstick the wrong one? I measured the actual stick from the bottom of the handle to the tip at 33".
I don't want to overfill it but don't want to underfill it either. Engine runs great now with good oil pressure. Obviously, the motors are at quite an angle in a direct drive but I would think they'd put the right dipstick in to take that into consideration.
