2001 Searay 190 Sundeck windshield bumper

Hi fellow boaters! I have a 2001 Searay 190 Sundeck, with a Taylor Made Clear Curve windshield that needs the walk through bumpers. This is the middle section of the windshield that when opened the bumpers keep it from hitting the left side windshield and the boat. One bumper broke off completely and the other looks like it's ready to follow suit. I'm concerned that it may break my windshield. I've contacted Taylor Made, they have no record of it and referred me to Searay, and of course Searay says they have no record of it. So I'm hoping someone here might have an idea of where to get one, or maybe how to improvise something.

Taylor Made said to look under a screw cover on the port side for the model number, there is no screw cover on the port side. There is a sticker on the inside windshield frame with a number 725648. I sent pictures to Taylor Made, which I am also attaching to this post.

There are lots of bumpers for doors and the like. Most are rubber/plastic with a screw to fasten them. There are also stick on bumpers.

I've looked at some on Amazon, I sure would like to replace these with OEM, or real close to it. But, with this boat being 24 years old, I may have to settle for something less than ideal. I can't believe we've owned this boat for 24 years, seems like yesterday..

That's old technology. In a good wind the center section can blow closed and break. Also, they are generally not used today because they break off just like you found out.

Many (most) newer boats use a hold-open clamp. Look at this:

Interesting, I like that latch. Better than OEM. We've had our center section blow closed on us a few times over the years, one time it blew closed on our grand daughters head. Ouch, she was ok, but it hurt. Thanks for the suggestion.

if you still have a bit of the stud left, put on a push-on rubber cover from your local ace hardware with a bit of black silycone. I had young kids at the time with my 2002 Searay 190BR, and I glued on two dinosaur head erasers

The one broke off at the base, no stud at all. I'm thinking of going the latch route, it's pricey but it would be a permanent solution. Thank you for the suggestions.
