I have never had this problem with my old Johnson 60 HP 2 stroke. It usually cranks right up no matter how long it sits. I have always run Non-Ethanol gasoline with Johnson outboard oil mixed at 50:1
I can choke it and cranks right up. Runs for 2 maybe 3 seconds and cuts off. I can choke it and it keeps running for another 2 or 3 seconds each time, but I have to hit the choke to keep it idling.
I installed a new in-line fuel filter. Tried another portable gas tank. installed new gas line and primer bulb. Also installed 3 new spark plugs. Nothing changed. It will crank right up when you choke it but only idles for a few seconds and cuts off. It will keep running if I hit the choke but I have to keep hitting choke to keep it running.
Any help will be appreciated.

Fuel from the electric primer valve goes directly into the motor.-----This fuel bypasses the metering circuits in the carburetors.----I would do the simple job of cleaning the carburetors.

Check the engine fuel pump. Does it run longer if you keep squeezing the primer bulb ?
I will check squeezing the primer bulb tomorrow to see if that helps. I don't remember if I tried that when I was checking things Monday.
Thanks. I will let you know if helps.
