Part #1? There was was seam to me like plastic melting down the exhaust housing you can see between the bolts what is still stuck in there. Is that soot? Feels like plastic. Also the gasket between the engine and power head was kinda blown out. The surrounding foam/ rubber like gasket is oil soaked and bloated

I just see an old gasket and exhaust build up. Assuming the GC is off, spray break cleaner in there, clean it up nice and install a new gasket.

Replace the plastic part if it has one. Clean the carbon out.

You’re saying the inch of hard stuff around what I assumed was the gasket was all exhaust build up? Is it like Creosote? I have the gaskets coming in the mail as well as other parts I’ll be sure to try to clean it all out.
