Should I feel suction on the inlet of the raw water pump with motor revving?
Not getting water from the outdrive.

Impellers do not suck water, they only push water

So, start with a new impeller. If the old one is missing fins, find them

Additionally, inspect the PS cooler for debris, and check the raw water inlet fitting on the outdrive (where the hose connects)

I replaced the impeller with a new one. It old one had no signs of damage. If I take a lawn hose and connect it to the outdrive with muffs I don’t get water to the raw water pump. I have inspected all the hoses from the raw water pump to the transom. They are all clear and in good shape. The connection at the transom is clear. If I put lawn hose to the raw water pump inlet it feed the engine fine.
Boat and raw water pump are 25 years old. Do I have a worn out pump or something in the out drive not correct. I did have the gimbal bearing replaced last year and haven’t used the boat since.

look at this fitting specifically (circled in red). 1752420877894.png

is that fitting in perfect shape? is seal item #8 intact?

is your power steering cooler plugged? (literally the first strainer in the system)

how much water pressure does your hose generate? what is your hose flow rate?

The lawn hose has lots of pressure if I turn it up too much it blows out the muffs. I have used these muffs in years past and they worked great. I can’t speak to the condition of o rings 8 and 10 but both are my concern.
Power steering cooler is clean and clear on the inside. All hoses inside the boat are in good shape and clear.
