Staying inland was not planned, but with the weather he did say he needed to stay inland for the next 3 days.

Robert seems to be making some decent time on the Inter-coastal Waterway today. At the speed he is traveling, he should make it to North Myrtle Beach or possibly Cape Fear by the time to call it a day.

They are on day 8 I believe and have passed Chicago and are on their way south on the Illinois River.

Where Robert, the Jon Boat Guy launched from Pensacola, they launched from the Florida Keys. The Lady Lor needs to get down the Mississippi to the gulf and then traverse the Gulf to the Florida Keys. That could be hampered by weather and fuel economy.

The Lady Lor's helm issue held her up about a day. The Jon Boat issues and weather have the Jon Boat Guy delayed about a day. It is going to be interesting ... the big question will be if the Jon Boat has better timing and can make more speed through the "No Wake Zones" and locks of the Erie Canal.

Things have been pretty dicey in the Maryland, Delaware , Jersey , New York areas for weeks now with severe storms moving across land and traveling out to sea along the coast what seems like almost daily.
Hopefully he skates thru between storms when he gets here.

Looks like Jon Boat might have stopped for the evening just south of Georgetown, SC. He is not far from the SC/NC border.

I guess he stopped for supplies or supper … moved to North of Georgetown, SC, and is stopped at Butler Island on the Waccamaw River.

Great Loop Jon Boat
Mistakes were made.

I screwed up, not enough rest and ate too much during the day resulting in me falling asleep at the tiller. I failed me and you and put myself and others in danger. I apologize and it won't happen again.

Fortunately I slide 30' in a marsh with tall reeds. No damage to me, the boat or motor. I'm not sure what flew forward to hit it, but the screen of my chart plotter was destroyed.

My team got right to it, finding a group of local followers that would come drag my boat out of the woods.

It seemed like it only took minutes for two boats to show up. I had clared a walkway. We looked it over together and came to agree that the 7 full fuel tanks need to be removed.

Once the tanks were removed my boat came out with a relatively gentle pull. We reinstalled the fuel tank and off we went.

Quinton Clark had pulled the rescue team together from his home in St Louis. It seamed like moments later he found an identical chartplotter at a Bass Proshop on my route tomorrow.

So many awesome things happened... hopefully the Great People of today will post their story of our meeting, but I'm putting this phone down and getting some sleep.

Enjoy the photos, there maybe questions... I'm going to bed.1752727189275.png
